                  Wednesday, 29 January, 2020 | Adventure Tours | 0 Comentarios

Waqrapukara is a pre-Incan and Incan architectural complex, located in the District of Accos, Province of Acomayo, in the Department of Cusco. Today, it is part of the ‘Nation´s Cultural Heritage’, and the perfect site for an unforgettable trip, enjoying its most beautiful panoramic views, landscapes with lagoons, stone forest, Andean camelids, such as vicuñas, lamas, alpacas, etc.

That site really is an architectural wonder, due to the presence of ornamental niches and triple jamb doors, given that it fulfilled ceremonial functions.

So, it is yet another motive for travelers, attracted by architectural sites, in the Cusco area, to come and enjoy this unique experience, in a little frequented place.

                  ITINERARY

                  Itinerary:

Between 3:00 and 3:30 a.m., we´ll pick you up at your hotel, aboard our group tourism transportation vehicle, and we´ll leave the city of Cusco, to go on a 2-hour and 15-minute trip, and get to Sangrará, at 3,769 meters above sea level (m.a.s.l. – 12,365 ft.).

On the way, we´ll do a stopover, to have breakfast and, afterwards, our vehicle will take us, for another 45 minutes, to get to a beautiful lagoon called ‘Kénter’ (4,550 m.a.s.l. – 14,927 ft.), where the 3-hour hike starts, on a flat and ondulating path.

The trail is impressive, with unique landscapes, in which you will have chances to contemplate the Yanacocha Lagoon, as well as Andean camelids (alpacas, lamas and vicuñas). Given that we´ll use the same path, to go and come back, we´ll visit the Architectural Complex of Waqrapukara (4,300 m.a.s.l. – 14,107 ft.) that was inhabited by the Canchis and, later on, by the Incas.

Once the visit over, we´ll be coming back, to get to the city of Cusco, at 7:00 p.m., and drop you off just a few blocks from the Main Square (Plaza de Armas).
